Summer Lane Primary School Sport Premium 2017-2018

gold-kitemarkSummer-LaneSchools must us the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and Sport they offer. This means that schools should use the Primary PE & Sport Premium to:

  • develop or add to the PE and sport activities that your school already offers.
  • build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now will benefit pupils joining the school in future years.

Schools are required to publish details of how they spend this funding as well as on the impact it has on pupils PE and sport participation and attainment.

    Term 1 Teacher Support at Summer Lane

    • Real PE with Year 2. Children in Year 2 have had the opportunity to have a member of Team Activ in to teach their PE lessons. They have looked at different stories and practiced their fundamental movement skills. Focusing on balance, control and different ways of moving their bodies. The children have really enjoyed getting into character for each of the stories and have worked really hard to practice and develop their skills.
    • Real PE with Year 3. Over 6 weeks children have practiced their fundamental skills in throwing, catching, body control and body movement when playing games including benchball. They have learnt new games and looked at different skills that they can practice with a partner or as part of a team. All children have gained confidence over the last 6 weeks whilst learning new games and skills.
    • Movement to Music for all Foundation children
     

    Term 2 Teacher Support at Summer Lane

    • Real PE and Basketball with Class 5 developing their fundamental basketball skills, teamwork and also practicing their umpiring skills
    • Gymnastics specialist support with Class 6, looking at gymnastics skills to create sequences.
    • Movement wit equipment for Foundation to develop their co-ordination skills.
